OUR FAMILY COUNSELORS

Our family counselors strongly believe that parents are the most important person in the children’s life. Our counselors will work to address the concern of the child/adolescent while helping the family to grow and heal.

For the children/teen:

Our family counselors will not only focus on the child’s psychological development but also the interpersonal relationship of the child/adolescent with the family members; how they relate to each other, communicate, and individuate. Creating a healthy family system that looks at the interactions of each member, how they communicate and helps each individual to learn how to interact in a healthier way.

We use a variety of counseling approaches working with children and teenagers. Helping them learn about themselves, their surroundings, including their capabilities and limitations. Helping them to learn new skills, learn how to handle anger and frustration, heal, and work through difficult times. We also address their social, emotional, behavioral and educational problems so they can enjoy healthy relationship with their parents

For the parents:

Our family counselors understand that parenting can be challenging–even overwhelming at times. Unfortunately, children don’t come with an instruction manual. And, being a parent doesn’t always mean that you automatically or instinctively know what to do. Our family counselor will work on building and maintaining a healthy family relationship. It is our belief that the relationship we have with our spouse or partner determines the health of the family unit. By working through primary relationship, we provide a strong foundation for the children. From that, we help parents with strategies and tools to manage negative behavior and encourage positive behavior. Help them grow to be a happy and responsible adult.

OUR MARRIAGE COUNSELOR

Our marriage counselors understand that problems emerge in any relationship. However, sometimes, a problem becomes more than you can handle and the relationship you value the most moves into dangerous territory. Our counselor will help you find your strength and guide you toward getting the relationship back on the right track by recognizing the real issues are and then helping you to implement solutions.

Our marriage counselor will give you the tools to help uncover and help the couple deal with problems that appear too big to overcome. We will work on the problems from the past, such as fear of abandonment, or current issues, like infidelity. We will help you spot the problem and help the couple address it in a controlled environment. Start building or rebuilding trust in the relationship and reinvigorate their marriages.

OUR SPECIAL NEEDS FAMILY COUNSELOR

Our special education counselors understand that being special needs parents, face challenges and hurdles that most of us may have never imagined. When your child has special needs, your life is filled with work, decision, and worrying. You expend your time and energy – often to the point of emotional and physical exhaustion – trying to do the right thing for your child, both advocating on their behalf and encouraging their independence. Our special needs counselor will sort through all the messiness and unknowns of transitions so you can parent with more ease and confidence. We will equip you with the tools and strategies and be in charge of your own child rather than depend on professional alone to work on your child. We will address social, emotional, academic and behavior and normalize the whole family lives.
